Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 2, 2026
FrontSeat Media (“FrontSeat”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates smart in-vehicle tablets that display advertising in rideshare vehicles, along with the website at frontseat.io (the “Site”) and related services (together, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
We are based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
1. Information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Advertiser inquiries. When you submit our advertiser inquiry form, we collect your first and last name, company email, job title, company name, company type, industry, and any description you choose to provide.
- Driver applications. When you apply to drive with FrontSeat, we collect your first and last name, email, phone number, city and province, rideshare experience, expected weekly hours, and any additional information you choose to provide.
- Correspondence. If you contact us by email, we keep a record of that correspondence and your contact details.
Information collected automatically
- Site usage data. Like most websites, we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and referring URLs to operate and secure the Site and understand how it is used.
- In-vehicle tablets. Our tablets record ad delivery and measurement data, such as which ads were displayed, approximate vehicle location during playback, and interactions like QR code scans. Our tablets do not use facial recognition, and we do not record audio or video of passengers.
- QR code interactions. If you scan a QR code shown on one of our tablets, you will be directed to a destination page. We may record that a scan occurred, along with the time and campaign, for measurement purposes.
2. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Respond to advertiser inquiries and driver applications;
- Onboard and manage advertisers and drivers;
- Deliver, measure, and report on advertising campaigns;
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Services;
- Communicate with you about the Services, including service updates;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use inquiry or application data for third-party marketing.
3. How we share information
We share personal information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. We use trusted third parties to help operate the Services (for example, hosting, email delivery, and internal communication tools). They may process personal information only to provide services to us.
- Aggregate reporting. Advertisers receive campaign reporting (such as impressions and scan counts) in aggregate form. This reporting does not identify passengers.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of FrontSeat, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If FrontSeat is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data retention
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to comply with legal obligations, or to resolve disputes. Inquiry and application records are retained while we evaluate and maintain the relationship, then deleted or anonymized.
5. Data storage and international transfers
Our service providers may store or process information outside of Canada, including in the United States. Where that occurs, the information may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We take reasonable steps to ensure comparable levels of protection.
6. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent to our handling of it. To make a request, email us at hello@frontseat.io. We will respond within the timelines required by applicable law. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
8. Children
The Services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
